This is the Shadow Password Suite version 3.3.2 source, received by me directly from the author (originally as 12 shar files - converted to .tar.gz by me). I am going to take over the Linux port. I hope this will end all the copyright problems and improve the Linux security. Installation of this package is not trivial (read: it is not enough to just su and say "make install" :-), it needs to be properly integrated with the distribution. I haven't even tried to compile this version yet. Use at your own risk, and only if you know what you're doing. Please send any bug reports, fixes and comments to me (I will forward them to the author as necessary). Flames will be redirected to /dev/null. Hopefully new Linux distributions will support shadow passwords soon. The author asked me to put the following notice in the README.FIRST file distributed with this package: This is the begining of a project to put the Shadow Password Suite for Linux under the BSD copyright. The purpose of this project is to create a release of the Shadow Password Suite which has been targetted specifically for the Linux operating system and which has a copyright suitable for inclusion in all releases of that operating system, whether distributed by "free" means or "commercial" ones.
