Sorry, I know only serial and bus mouse, and touch pad. I do not know
what kind of driver needed and suggest you to load either "serial", either
"ps/2" driver. Next, with trial & error, you can move your device,
checking the file /proc/interrupts
# cat /proc/interrupts
waiting for some change in numbers.
Finally, the better method: if nobody answer from the ML, you can ask
on a Linux-dedicated newsgroup. I'm sure, someone use trackball in Linux
machines.

muLinux born as a single floppy with hacking personality: it was my
living block-notes, a collection of tips an tricks about scripting, boot
process and boot loader experiments, embedded and unusual systems
application, and so on.
His structure reflect this original intention.
muLinux is'nt a simple sub-set of binaries taken
from a bigger Linux distribution. A work of this kind (the sub-set)
is really simpler compared to miniaturization efforts done in muLinux.
The drawback is libc, the C library used in mulinux, old and buggy.
We cannot be able to put in muLinux a package installer because we
cannot install anything from Internet. A package installer for Slackware
(and Debian) is not so difficult to realize, but the main question is
still unresolved: we cannot find on Internet binaries linked with
libc.so.5, but only libc.so.6.
To keep update a true distro, with a complete set of packages,
is a complex task, and requires an equipe of volontaires,
and less rustic but more professional work.
