This page contains some useful resources for using TYPO3 on Debian based systems.
Please note: This information is outdated. Please refer to this document instead.
To install the packages, you need to add these lines to /etc/apt/sources.list:
| deb http://typo3.sunsite.dk/software/debian/ ./ |
| deb-src http://typo3.sunsite.dk/software/debian/ ./ |
Then just run apt-get update && apt-get install typo3-base
New #1: Run apt-get install typo3-env to get all recommended packages (mysql-server, imagemagick, etc.)
New #2: Run apt-get install typo3-site-installer to get an install script that manages most parts of the installation! :-)

IMPORTANT: These documents are meant for advanced users only!!
Status of TYPO3 3.6.0 packages: I am currently working on it but it takes much more time than expected.
The new packages will contain an updated site installer, GIF support for GD and ImageMagick, plus most notably a complete installation manual which is currently being written!
